When Someone Needs More Than We Can Offer

Our Strength and Balance programme is built for people at low to moderate falls risk who can stand and balance unaided and follow group instruction. It isn’t the right starting point for everyone — people with unexplained blackouts or dizziness, uncontrolled cardiac conditions, significant vestibular disturbance, or cognitive impairment that would make a group class unsafe, and people recently discharged from hospital at high risk of falling, are generally better served first by their GP or local NHS falls and frailty service.

That isn’t a dead end — once someone’s risk has been assessed and managed, or they’ve progressed through NHS rehabilitation, our programme is exactly the kind of community-based, evidence-led exercise that’s often the recommended next step. We’re always happy to talk through a specific case: contact us directly, or use our Falls Risk Assessment Tool to check suitability.
