Volunteer with us, or train to become an instructor — and help more adults across Ealing and Hillingdon stay strong, steady and active.
StayActive4Life relies on people who care about helping older adults stay active, confident and connected. Whether you have an hour to spare at a local class or you’re looking to train as an instructor, there’s a way to get involved that fits around you.
Volunteering
Volunteers are a valued part of every class. Depending on what suits you, this can include:
Welcoming and helping participants at classes
Setting up and packing away equipment before and after sessions
Spreading the word about classes in your local area
Admin and attendance support
Becoming an instructor
Our instructors lead sessions independently, so we ask for:
A recognised qualification (for example Level 3 Otago, Level 4 Postural Stability Instructor, FaME, Tai Chi for Health, Qigong, or Zumba Gold)
A DBS check
A first aid certificate
Prior experience teaching group exercise
Not already qualified? Our usual route is to shadow a class first, then train up from there — so if you’re interested but not sure you meet everything above yet, get in touch and we can talk through the path that fits you.
Coming Soon
We're gathering real stories from our volunteers and instructors to share here soon.
